What do you think about this movie. I'm not much of a fan of it. I think it would have been better if they had done a better job on the animation and if the voices sounded more like the original actors. Some of the stroylines could have been better.

I'm not sure that I like it. The animation wasn't the best and the voices were... well... not so hot. I'm also not a fan of the three story sequels that Disney has been producing lately.

I pretty much only like it cause it's Tarzan. Hopefully Tarzan 2 will be much better.

When I saw this movie advertised on HBoNDII I was so exceited and was counting down the days!! I thought it would be like the movie and have more of an actual storyline!! I knew ahead of time about the animation becasue I watched the series...so that wasn't a shock. I just can't get over the fact they the stringed a couple of episodes together and added a (kind of) storyline to it. The other thing was....somehow it seemed to me that the characters changed a little. I don't know.....Terk, Jane and Tantor and Tarzan (you get the picture) theya ll seemed different to me

Yeah, the voice work wasn't to great and the animation wasn't that good either. This sequel is a great example of my problem with sequels, they don't put enough effort into them. This one I think is one of the worst for that (why did they have to do it to Tarzan ). They didn't do much for new animation, they just used stuff that was already done .

I agree with you on the whole sequel thing. I know that I've probably said this before but I don't understand how they get permission to string up a few cartoons and call it a sequel. Tarzan defiently was one of the worst

I enjoyed this movie, even though it was nowhere near as good as the original Tarzan film, it was still pretty neat all the same

I also haven't seen the movie. I've been trying to find it online somewhere so I can buy it (besides ebay, my mom is against ebay for some reason) but I've heard mixed reviews about it. I still want to see it though.

I'd recommend renting it, or finding somewhere to watch it online before buying it. All it is is three episodes from the tv show tied together as flashbacks for the main storyline.

Haven't seen the movie yet but I plan to see it. I've watched Tarzan through a lot of movie and TV refits, from the Johnny Weismuller and Ron Ely stuff to that badly conceived Bo Derek vehicle of a Tarzan movie. None of them seem to get it quite right IMO, or capture the true spirit of the Tarzan characters as conceived by the original author, Edgar Rice Burroughs. I think the animated bits I've seen are closer to getting it right though. I recommend all Tarzan fans should read the first book in the series at least, which was called "Tarzan of the Apes." Another book which has a good feel for the character is "Jungle Tales of Tarzan" and it's easier and more fun to read than most because it's just a series of short stories.

I totally agree. I haven't read Jungle Tales yet, but I've read Tarzan of the Apes several times. It's one of my favourite books.

It's been years since I read that stuff but I still remember it and I think I'll always remember those stories. I even remember some of the word translations in the Ape/English dictionary which was in the first book. When I was growing up everybody thought Tarzan was not too smart, kind of illiterate actually, and spoke in broken English, like the Johnny Weissmuller character always did, but in the books it was established early on that Tarzan not only spoke perfect English but also that he had mastered a number of human languages and ape language. Tarzan was a deep thinking character who could have joined or rejoined human civilization any time he wanted, but instead he rejected technology and chose to stay in the jungle. He was always compassionate with people but still highly critical of what he considered to be the foibles of human culture. Those stories helped to shape my own views of human society.

That's one of the reasons I love Disney's version so much. Although they couldn't show him teaching himself to read, they made sure we knew that this guy is intelligent. The whole Son of Man sequence shows that.
