Beautiful scenery, wonderful story telling that pulls on your heart, memorable characters, what more could you want?...
With songs that make you laugh and sing along to scores that make you cry and only add to the wonderful imagery of the African savanah, The Lion King soundtrack has got to be one of the best. From beginning to finale the songs seemlessly move the story along.
But songs aside, the score is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful of all films (not limited to just Disney movies). Without a doubt, Hans Zimmer is a genious. His incredible work brings you right into the story and stirs every emotion imaginable.
The other albums that spun off from this one, while not necessarily as brilliant, hold a magic all their own. Rythmn of the Pride Lands offers music from and insired by the OST. Many are fun, while others are moving and inspirational. The Broadway album takes the songs from the OST, and adds to them. For example, during Can You Feel the Love Tonight there is a gorgeous musical break as Simba and Nala fall in love. New songs include the somewhat funny Morning Report and The Madness of King Scar, as well as the sorrowfull Shadowland and the haunting Endless Night.
What are your thoughts? Favourite song or score piece?

I have The Lion King OST on CD, but don't listen to it as much anymore nowadays as I used to, although it is still good
